Video Notes over Drone

coding

when forming a code, multiple together creates a mission or a program.  makes the drone move

sequential logic - each block is executive in  specific order

After the mission is complete you have to insert land to land your drone

flying patterns

fly forward, right, backwardly, for 60 in

drone can flip, forward backwardly, side, side

repeat steps

can add if then statements but coding wise for the drone.

if the drone goes left then have it flip forward   if the drone goes right have the drone flip backwards.

fly in certain patterns and have the drone fly back to the start of the pattern and then land.

to land in hand make sure to add hovering coding to get ready to get in position to catch the drone

simulator notes

drone can curve in pattern

while making my drone move to the next platform, I found that I had to redo the distance of the last two flying backwards and flying left about 10 times.  I kept getting the distances too short and my drone would not land on the platform.  Once my drone landed on the platform (finally) I took my loom video and added a screenshot of my coding mission on how I flew my drone over to the next landing pad. (I LATER LEARN IN THE MARS SIMULATOR HOW TO USE TO MEASURE TOOL TO CORRECTLY MEASURE THE DISTANCE TO FLY MY DRONE)

MARS SIMULATOR VIDEOS

  • While doing the mars simulator lab, I feel I learned a lot about coding through being able to go through different missions and seeing what all my drone was capable of doing with the right mission coded.  I found this coding lad/videos to be more helpful and full of more information then the sequencing game.  I feel after this lesson I could go back to the sequencing game and be able to navigate the website and the coding game better then the first time.

  • During this lesson I found that the more I was able to mess with the programming to make my drone fly certain patterns, the more comfortable I felt trying new flying patterns and helping explain to my partner.

  1. Hi Skylar! I really loved the layout and design of your blog post. I also thought it was really cool to see all the different things that the drone was capable of. I also did the mars simulator and I thought it was the coolest thing, because it was very realistic.

  2. Hi Skylar!
I love how organized your blog is! I enjoyed listening to your explanation in your screencast video, it was easy to follow along. I also mentioned using the coding game as experience in my blog. It would be a great tool for students to build background knowledge on coding.
