BOOK CREATE - notes of exploration - reflections updated fofr Final project phase 2

  • One way to engage students within this website is to have students write a rough draft of a story that they create.  As their final product and this could also be a project grade, or extending a lesson, create a book of their story online. This would be a great final project idea for students.  For students to extend their story into a book, and be as creative as possible to show and express their ideas.  This could be used for multiple class subjects as well.  For example, students could create their own story, create their make of a historical event, create a short story to create math problems later, and the list goes on. -- I like the idea of using this from my notes when exploring book creator.  I plan on having students a life cycle, giving the students a few website choices to choose from to create their life cycle.  Another option could also be to have students create a story to go along with their life cycle.  This would be a way to get a deeper understanding of how well the students understand a life cycle instead of just remembered the steps that go into a cycle. MAIN IDEA
  • I create a story on book creator about a life cycle.  using a story that involves something they are interested in will make the content stick more.  This would be a new approach for me in teaching science content and I really like this idea

  • Teachers can use this website in a  multiple of different ways.  We can create our stories for our classroom to include their own interest and even classroom pets!  Other ways to use this website is to use the features to create a PowerPoint, or even a flyer for a project or a school event.  This website can really spruce up and bring in fun and color into information that could otherwise come across as boring.  As future educators it is important to remember multiple ways we can use multiple resources.  his keeps content fun not only for the students but for us as well.

  • I also really like the face that this website allows you to upload files and designs from other websites directly onto your book.  For example, I do a lot of creating files and posters in Canva.  I could take one of those designs from canva and upload it onto the book creator website to include into a book as an illustration. This website is full of really cool technology resources that students probably already know how to work better than I do.  These are great tools that I would like to incorporate into my future classroom to keep students engaged in content.
